The Northeast Microelectronics Coalition (NEMC) Hub, a division of the Massachusetts Technology Collaborative (MassTech) dedicated to advancing microelectronics across the Northeast, will host Department of Defense and White House officials to publicly announce the first multimillion-dollar project awards under the Microelectronics Commons program. The event will be held at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology Lincoln Laboratory in Lexington.
The Northeast Regional Defense Technology (NORDTECH) and Silicon Crossroads Microelectronics Commons (SCMC) Hubs, led by The Research Foundation for the State University of New York (SUNY) and Applied Research Institute, respectively, will also be featured as part of this significant announcement.
Department of Defense and White House representatives will share this important news regarding the Microelectronics Commons — a $2 billion Department of Defense initiative established under the CHIPS and Science Act of 2022, which advances U.S. leadership in the semiconductor industry.
