Zach Isakowitz Joins SIA as Director of Government Affairs

Isakowitz most recently served as legislative director for U.S. Rep. Michael McCaul (R-Texas).

The Semiconductor Industry Association (SIA) today announced Zach Isakowitz has joined the association as director of government affairs. In this role, Isakowitz will work with Congress, the White House, and federal agencies to advance the industry’s policy priorities. SIA represents 99 percent of the U.S. semiconductor industry by revenue and nearly two-thirds of non-U.S. chip firms.

“Semiconductors are enabling the greatest period of technological advancement in human history, and sound government policies are needed to ensure the chip industry can continue to grow, innovate, and give rise to the transformative technologies of tomorrow,” said John Neuffer, SIA president and CEO. “With extensive experience advancing a range of legislative priorities affecting our industry, Zach will be a highly effective advocate for SIA in Washington. We are thrilled to welcome him to the SIA team.

Isakowitz most recently served as legislative director for U.S. Rep. Michael McCaul (R-Texas), where he helped advanced the Congressman’s legislative initiatives, including the landmark CHIPS and Science Act of 2022. Rep. McCaul was a lead sponsor and champion of the CHIPS and Science Act, which was passed and signed into law in August 2022. Isakowitz also served as the lead staff member for the Congressional Semiconductor Caucus. Before his service on Capitol Hill, Isakowitz served in various roles in the U.S. Department of the Treasury. He received a B.A. in Mass Communications from the University of Delaware.
