VividQ, a deep technology innovator in computational holography, today announced the opening of its first U.S. headquarters in Palo Alto, California and the appointment of veteran tech executive Mark Morrison as Vice President of Sales.
The expansion marks a major milestone as the company accelerates the product development roadmap of its revolutionary holographic display technology, building on its success in automotive and gaming with new applications in the entertainment and defense sectors.
Amid mounting interest from original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) in these sectors, VividQ is hosting live demonstrations of its proprietary technology for media, investors and partners at its new Silicon Valley location. Six global OEMs, including JVCKenwood, a Japanese global electronics company, and U.S.-based leaders in display and automotive technology, already incorporate VividQ’s breakthrough 3D holographic display in their consumer offerings.
“Our new demo space isn’t just about showcasing technology, it’s about offering a glimpse into the future,” said Darran Milne, VividQ founder and CEO. “We’re bringing the ‘Star Trek holodeck to life, one hologram at a time.”
VividQ’s technology represents a giant leap forward on the path to achieving the “Star Trek holodeck” – a room-sized immersive environment created solely from holographic images. Leaps and bounds beyond what other 3D holographic experiences offer, VividQ technology is sought after by major theme parks and movie studios, which must provide extraordinary experiences to attract consumers to their venues.
“While devices like Apple’s Vision Pro are propelling spatial computing into the mainstream, they still require the user to wear glasses or another type of intermediary device to enjoy a 3D experience,” said Milne. “VividQ’s immersive displays project 3D images into free space – no glasses, headsets or intermediary screens required – ushering in a new era of digital realism that until now has existed only in science fiction.”
